STEPPING IN | SPILLING OUT.
PERFORMANCE LECTURE. 2023.A performer begins stepping on an enlarged carpet. They continue stepping through different layers of landscapes; of parties, of protests, of rituals, of mosh pits morphing into gas clouds.
Stepping in | Spilling out. Is a performance made in collaboration with percussionist Remi Gouffault. Stepping together, stepping for x or stepping alone across your parents carpet. This work brings together research, memories, conversations and dances that explore the multitude of ways of stepping and its relation to creating and inhabiting space.
This performance was made in participation with guest dancers contributing recorded conversations to the live performance. In each iteration I wish to meet with dancers in each location of the performance and bring their recorded conversations into the performance.
