My dance is a box.
If you were to ask me to dance
Out of the blue
I would place my hands
On the edges of the box,
tracing seams
Feeling for a slither to slip through
I cannot force myself,
it won’t burst, it will slide out my hands
And I go looking for the soap
I feel my limbs
flesh softening
Rippling - reforrrrming
When my head swwwwwirls
I am almost all the way in
I am in my dance
The box shapes my skin
I am leaping, falling
stumbling into edges
of
Self
Of sssspace
sensualities
Known and discovered.
Sometimes
This doesn’t happen
Sometimes I get my torso
through the cracks
just an arm.
I dont blame myself orrrrrr try not to
Standing there… shoulder deep
In an ugly cube…
my arm threshing for something to feel
A river
A place
A body
Mine
